This year’s tournament will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25, and Thursday, Sept. 26, at Bayou Golf Course in Texas City. (Rain dates are Oct. 2 and 3.) Meet, greet and socialize with industrial plant man- agers, business colleagues, customers, clients and guests — all in a casual, re- laxed setting. It’s truly one of the region’s can’t-miss events! Choose from three different team packages, each package includes a team of four players. This two-day event hosts more than 400 golfers and two dozen hospitality tents to create a networking and social atmosphere. This year’s tournament will con- sist of four flights: Wednes- day AM & PM and Thursday AM & PM. The Thursday PM flight is the Industry Leadership Flight where golfers will have the opportunity to be paired with a high-level industry leader and more to com. The Chamber also is excit- ed to introduce a fun twist and theme for the 2024 Golf Classic: Classic TV Sitcoms. More than 24 hospitality tents will represent different television shows from any era with exciting food and décor in the tents. The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at South Shore Harbor Resort & Conference Center in League City. Eighteen honorees will be recog- nized for integrity, passion, humility and empathy and for fostering collabo- rations, being a servant leader, uplift- ing others and adding value to others. Six winners will be announced from each category, including Large Busi- ness, Small Business, Woman-Owned Business, Education, Non-Profit/Volun- teer and Young Professional categories. The WILA Luncheon is an elegant event that includes a catered lunch. The event also includes video high- lights from each of the finalists. They were welcomed by Mayor Dedrick Johnson and city staff at city hall. During lunch, the group heard from city officials and Mayor Johnson. After this, they visited the Texas City Museum. Next, the group went to the Texas City Police De- partment, where members took a tour and witnessed a S.W.A.T demonstration. Then, the group visited the Biosphere & Pump Station and the Emergency Operations Center. Also, they toured the Texas City Central Fire station. The class ended the day at city hall, where they attended the city commission meeting.
