Your Chairman, Sergio Matute, has been an outstand- ing Chairman of the Board. Our thanks go to him for his leadership, insight, sound reasoning and new outlooks. 2019 has been a year of great accom- plishments as well as continued efforts to strengthen the Texas City–La Marque business base and community. Looking back over the year, the push toward a winning legislative session was accomplished and the involvement from our chamber members was stron- ger than ever. Four-star accreditation was received by our chamber as recognized by the U.S. Chamber — less than 3 percent of all chambers receive the status of “accredited.” Through training programs and educational opportunities, chamber members received valuable business training at affordable prices. Chamber event participation was at an all-time high, giving opportunities for business promotion and networking. Yes, it was a busy and productive year.
