Get ready for an out-of-this- world experience! The 28th annual Grand Kids Festival, presented by The Grand 1894 Opera House, will leave festival attendees star struck. This one-of-a-kind, family event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 20 on Postoffice Street between 20th and 23rd streets. This year’s theme is Outer Space. This event is free and open to the public. The festival committee is thrilled to bridge the realms of science and art, highlighting their remarkable similarities. The festival, celebrated as one of the Gulf Coast region’s premier spring family events, serves as a vibrant platform to introduce children and families to both disciplines. Through live entertainment on outdoor and indoor stages, alongside more than 40 activity booths, attendees engage in hands-on experiences that illustrate the profound connections between science and art, fostering creativity, exploration and learning for all. A highlight of the entertainment offered each year is a musical adaptation by MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE as part of a theatre residency. Presenting “Rapunzel” this year, Missoula Children’s Theatre works with a cast of more than 50 area students for a week before the festival.
