I ENTERTAIN.” CHARLIE DANIELSinterwoven in the fabric of what is Amer-ican Music.Daniels was launched into the global music stratosphere with his international hit “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” in 1979 and has continued at a remarkable pace well into his 82nd year on earth. Inductions into the Country Music Hall Of Fame and The Grand Ole Opry are hallmarks of successful 60-plus year career in popular music, but Daniels has never limited his output to just musical endeavors. Daniels has writ-ten books, such as “Never Look At The Empty Seats,” and “Let’s All Make The Day Count.” He has also appeared in movies, including “Urban Cowboy,” and in television, shows such as“King Of The Hill.” Daniels has also been on numerous talk shows, where he expounds on his polit-ical views, support for the U.S. military and shares how his Christian faith is an everyday part of his life. And, while Dan-iels is opinionated, he recognizes that there is a time and place for it. “I am very careful to keep my life as an entertainer and my life as a private citizen, who lets his opinion on sensitive issues be known, totally separate,” Dan-iels wrote on his website page he calls “Soap Box.” “I don’t do politics on stage — period. The Journey Home Project partners with organizations that do the most good with the least overhead, according to Daniels. Recently, the organization do-nated $25,000 to a group in Tennessee that brings awareness to soldiers with traumatic brain injuries and post-trau-matic stress disorder. Daniels has recorded and/or performed with legendary artists like Hank Williams Jr., Marshal Tucker Band, Little Rich-ard and Ted Nugent, among countless others. Also, Daniels has performed with fellow Lone Star Rally performer, Eddie Mont-gomery of Montgomery Gentry, who will be performing Saturday night on the Progressive Stage at Beach Central.
