It must be true because he’s making his fifth appearance and has coin- cided the release of his new video “One Folded” — which is a salute to veterans who have given their lives for their country — off his latest release, “Jekyll & Hyde,” with one of his Lone Star Rally appearances at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1 on the Pro- gressive Beach Central Stage at 21st and Seawall. “There’s two places I really love playing; Lone Star Rally in Galveston and Bike Week in Florida,” Jennings said. Jennings was born into one of country music’s most iconic family names, first emerging in 2012 as anoth- er naturally gifted singer from the Jennings tribe. With large boots to fill, the young Nashville recording artist and singer-songwriter for Dirt Rock Empire, with a booming baritone voice as big as Texas, finds himself with a few expectations to live up to. Seeking to estab- lish his own musical legacy as one of the few remaining torch-bearing country tradi- tionalists out there, Jennings can instantly take his fans back to a time and sound his grandfather Waylon and grandmother Jessi gave birth to in the ’70’, even with his own songs. With three studio recorded EP releases under his belt, 2020’s “Gypsy Soul,” 2022’s “If It Wasn’t for The Sinnin,’” and 2023’s “Just Before The Dawn,” Jennings released his first full length album, the highly anticipated “Jekyll & Hyde,” Aug. 23, 2024. Many of Jennings’ songs reveal stories of how he has come to terms with a checkered past of too much partying, led by a drug-fu- eled lifestyle, but knowing he needed to make a change. He tells musical stories about struggles, addiction, finding sobriety and redemption through faith in God, family and his friends. Interjecting his own modern-day ap- proach to song writing and storytelling while remaining a little rough around the edges, Jennings’ unpolished grit and honest demeanor defines his sound with mu- sical roots that run as deep as his Jennings family name would imply. Whey Jennings will be ap- pearing at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2 on the Progressive Beach Central Stage and at 4:30 p.m. Sunday Nov. 3 on the Miller Lite Saengerfest Park Stage at 23rd and The Strand. 2024 | Lone Star Rally | The Daily News | 17 Whey Jennings Releases New Video Saluting Veterans18 | The Daily News | Lone Star Rally | 2024 American Metal Whiskey Introduces Sonic Infusion Whiskey to Lone Star Rally A mericans have been making whiskey for more than 200 years, but early settlers could never have imagined what their little dis- tilling operations would evolve into. With its iconic place in American society, from the Old Fashioned to the Manhattan to its starring roles in rock and blues songs like George Thorogood’s “I Drink Alone” or John Lee Hooker’s “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,” whiskey is on every- one’s mind at some point in life or another, if not in their glass. In all its incarnations, formations and applications one would be hard pressed to come up with something new but that is exactly what Ameri- can Metal Whiskey has done. While still honoring the cultural roots of American whiskey with their handcrafted flagship brand, American Metal Whiskey has made the bold move of inventing something new: infusing the whiskey with the sound of a custom 1941 Knucklehead Harley Davidson. Called The Disciple, the whiskey will be on hand for sampling at the American Metal Whiskey booth at Lone Star Rally and is literally made by submerging a waterproof speaker into oak barrels and letting the sound of the motor- cycle “infuse” the whiskey over the course of several months. “We took the sound of The Disciple, which is a bike Josh Allison (a custom bike and car builder and one of the compa- ny partners) custom built for American Metal, and we could see a clear transformation of the whiskey,” Chief Brand Offi- cer Brian Stephenson said. American Metal Whiskey was born from the same company that has been operating Amer- ican Metal Customs and North American Motor Cars, a one- stop custom shop in Connecti- cut for bikes, cars and hot rods, according to Stephenson. With Stephenson and Allison along with entrepreneurs Randy Carlson and Chris Bishop, the four launched American Metal Whiskey in late 2023. “We were talking about whis- key because we were naturally whiskey lovers and what excit- ed us was the idea of making a whiskey for people who love the craftsmanship of the custom car and bike industry” Allison said. The facility in Connecticut is a destination for custom car, bike and hot rod enthusiasts with building, detailing and painting shops within. It also has two lounges including a Glamour and Grit Lounge where they serve their whiskey. “The same craftsmanship that goes into our car and bike builds goes into our whiskey,” Stephenson said. The brand is expanding across U.S. markets and was recently named official whiskey of the Harley Davidson muse- um in Wisconsin and ships to 41 states via the website www. AmericanMetalWhiskey.com. Plans for Texas retailers, bars and restaurants are underway with Stephenson adding that the company is looking for- ward to reaching the Texas market.
